: In this program, volunteers teach different subjects such as English, Science, Math’s, and Social Science and so on depending on school curriculum (primarily English) at government school. Depending on the school, volunteers will either teach independently in class or with another Nepali helper teacher.
Volunteers teach between two to four hours of 45-minute classes each period, six days a week (Saturday is holiday). Volunteers generally create programs to stimulate classroom lessons and improve students’ conversational English though different teaching methods. Volunteers engaging in this program will have some guidance of effective teaching in Nepali style although the volunteers can demonstrate new model of their own teaching style if that is applicable in Nepali government schools.
Prior to the placement, volunteers will receive Nepali language and cultural training. During their placement, volunteers will stay with a local traditional Nepali family located close to the school.
After completing the volunteer job at government schools in Nepal, volunteer, students and school staffs can stay keep in touch through various contact information source so that the next time the school’s family would welcome again to volunteering at schools which make lasting relationship among each other.

• Organizing games, drawing, singing, dancing, and other creative activities.

• Taking kids on educational tours and organize seminar/presentation about new places may be of your own country.
• Helping kids to do homework, and help them to increase their extra knowledge besides they get academically.

Skills required: You must have good English (but not of very high standard). If volunteer have any related experience in teaching school will be given plus point. Volunteers must observe the rules and regulations of the school and be respectful as well as polite to the teachers and local people.
Program Dates – Flexible i.e. the minimum time for the program is 2 weeks and the maximum length of stay is 5 months.
Accommodations - Volunteers will have either home stay with traditional Nepali families (host family) or have their own room in that school hostel. The accommodation is typically Nepali and based by Western standards, often with traditional Nepali toilets and showers.
Food - Breakfast at around 7 am which consists of a cup of tea and biscuits. There after lunch is served at 9:00 to 9:30 am and is usually dal/bhat (rice, lentils, and vegetables). Dinner is at 6:30 to 7:00pm and is once more Dal/Bhat.
Suggestion: Volunteers can bring along teaching materials such as picture books, instruments, flash cards, art supplies, toy games and songs.
Project Location: Tropical village not far from large town with all basic facilities.(Kathmandu, Chitwan, Pokhara -If needed we can arrange placement all over Nepal)
