Health Post & Sanitation Issues

The medical health program will mainly be in community hospital, community health post in rural village and other urban based hospital. The volunteer will help to hospital staff, share knowledge and vice-versa. Moreover, the volunteers’ duty will also be to aware local people about the health issues like making environment unpolluted and keeping house neat and clean as well as adjoining places. Likewise, the volunteer can also launch health campaign of first aid treatment and raising awareness of fatal diseases of HIV/ADS, Malaria and Swine flu as well as reproductive health at community level.
The Sanitation program mostly will be held in rural village of Nepal where the people have very low knowledge of sanitation in terms of hygienic food, washing clothes, taking bath and cleaning up home and surroundings. So, to provide appropriate information, the volunteers impart knowledge to local community women, men, children, and mobilize them too.
The both above mentioned activities have not strict timetable about volunteering in community. However, the office prescribes almost 3 to 4 hours a day. Apart from that, we can provide extra service of teaching opportunities at school’s student mainly the burning health problems like HIV/ ADS and reproductive health to adolescence according to volunteers’ interest.
During their placement, volunteers will stay with a local family located within a half-hour to an hour from the post. Placements are available near Pokhara, Chitwan and within the Kathmandu Valley.
